Grip where it gets wet, strength where it gets walked on, size where you want calm. What matters, room by room.
What the figures on a tile mean.
The R number is tested with shoes on a tilting ramp. Higher means less slippery when wet.

For bare feet there is a separate test, A to C:
How much water a tile soaks up. Less water means no frost damage, fewer stains and a stronger tile.
Porcelain goes anywhere, inside or out. Wall ceramic stays on indoor walls.
Thicker tiles carry more weight; thin slabs are light enough for walls.

Big tiles make a room feel calm and bigger, with fewer joints to clean. Matt hides footprints and dust; polished reflects light into a dark room.

Walls are where you can play: a single slab behind the basin, a textured decor in the shower, or mosaic in a niche. A slab means no grout lines where water runs.

A walk-in shower floor slopes to the drain, so smaller tiles or a cut slab follow the fall better. Pick a matt or grip finish for wet bare feet.

One material can cover the floor, the wall behind the hob and even the worktop. Porcelain takes heat, acids from lemon and vinegar, and hot pans.

Outside, tiles meet rain, sun and the odd frost. A grip finish keeps them safe when wet. 20 mm tiles can sit on gravel or raised supports, with no glue.

Glass mosaic lines the pool itself: it takes chlorine, follows curves and keeps its colour. Around the pool, use a grip porcelain rated for bare feet.
Matt and glazed porcelain do not; they take in almost no water. Some polished tiles get a protective treatment at the factory. Ask us about the tile you choose.
Yes. Porcelain carries heat well. Your fitter uses a flexible adhesive and lets the heating cure the screed first.
The edges are ground straight after firing, so joints can be as thin as 2 mm. Large tiles and slabs are almost always rectified.
About 10% for straight laying and 15% for diagonal or herringbone, for cuts and breakage. Keep a box for future repairs: later batches can differ slightly in shade.
Often yes. Many series, such as Midi, come in a normal finish for indoors and a grip finish for outside, in the same colour.
Send a drawing or a photo of the room. We suggest tiles that suit each area and lay samples side by side in the showroom.
